Axis Connect brings together world-class choreographers, dancers, teachers, and other industry leaders for workshops, classes, Q&A, creative process, rehearsals, networking, and performance opportunities in NYC and LA. Dancers work intensely with the best talent in the industry and discover their own unique talents while bonding with a strong community that can carry them through their careers and beyond.

The Barton sisters have a wonderful grasp on how to train and inspire artists of the 21st century, connecting rigorous practice with exploration and innovation.

Who is AXIS CONNECT for?

Renegades, boundary pushers, savvy artists, and dancers with curious spirits. AXIS CONNECT is designed for both early career dancers looking to bridge the gap between school and professional life, and professional dancers, eager to rediscover themselves and reconnect with industry leaders.

Since its inaugural year in 2016, Axis Connect has created a community of over 250 dancers, choreographers, directors, agents, managers, producers and teachers, providing a safe place for emerging artists to find a strong sense of self amidst fellow creatives.

Many of Axis Connect's dancers have gotten professional contracts as a direct result of the program, working with Barton Movement, Hamilton on Broadway, Sonya Tayeh, Peter Chu, on television shows, video campaigns, films and more. Many dancers have also signed with talent agencies in NYC and Los Angeles.

Acceptance into the program is by audition only. Auditions for the 2021 session are to be announced.

Scholarship application forms will be available.

Led by founders Cherice and Charissa Barton, the mission of Axis Connect is to help emerging and professional dancers learn to carve their own paths as fearless, connected artists. We bridge the gap between the commercial and concert dance worlds, and aim to connect dance communities across the US. We provide guidance to accelerate the transition between institutions and the professional dance industry by providing the experience, skills, and exposure necessary for career success.
