Axis Connect brings together world-class dance artists - choreographers, dancers, teachers, and industry leaders - from around the world for three weeks of intensive classes, workshops, creative process, rehearsals, panels, networking, and performance opportunities in both Los Angeles and New York City. Dancers are in studio for a total of 15 days, working intensely with the best talent the industry has to offer.
Who is AXIS CONNECT for?
Renegades, boundary pushers, savvy artists, and dancers with curious spirits.
AXIS CONNECT is designed for both early career dancers looking to bridge the gap between school and professional life, and professional dancers, eager to rediscover themselves and reconnect with industry leaders.
We attract artists who want to explore all career possibilities, who understand the importance of networking, and who seek to push the boundaries of the industry.
Since its inaugural year in 2016, Axis Connect has created a community of over 200 dancers, choreographers, directors, agents, managers, producers and teachers, providing a safe place for emerging artists to find a strong sense of self amidst fellow creatives.
Many of Axis Connect's dancers have gotten professional contracts as a direct result of the program, working with Barton Movement, Hamilton on Broadway, Sonya Tayeh, Peter Chu, on television shows, video campaigns, short films and more. Many dancers have also signed with talent agencies in NYC and Los Angeles.

Led by founders Cherice and Charissa Barton, the mission of Axis Connect is to help enable emerging and professional dancers to carve their own paths as fearless, connected artists. We bridge the gap between the commercial and concert dance worlds, and aim to connect dance communities across the US. During the intensive, we immerse our dancers in both the NYC and Los Angeles dance scenes. We provide the necessary transition between the institution and professional dance industry by providing the experience, skills, and exposure necessary for career success.
