Cindy Salgado

Cindy Salgado has been a proud member of Crystal Pite’s Kidd Pivot since 2009. She is currently on faculty with New York City Dance Alliance, was recently Assistant Rehearsal Director for Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet and a cofounder/volunteer teacher for Artists Striving To End Poverty, which brought her to South Africa, India, New York, and South Florida. As a choreographer,Cindy has created work on the dancers of Kidd Pivot and has choreographed for the Peridance Certificate Program as well as solos for Fordham and Columbia Universities. In 2014 she began a multimedia dance theatre company called Shook Ones with spoken word poet, Alejandro Rodriguez, and multimedia artist, Yazmany Arboleda, showcasing their work in venues throughout New York, Toronto & LaGuardia Performing Arts Center. 
Cindy's dance career has spanned 20 years; graduating from the Juilliard School with the Princess Grace Award in 2005 and freelancing in New York and abroad with Aszure Barton & Artists, Baryshnikov’s Hell’s Kitchen Dance,  Peter Chu's Chu This, and more.  She assisted Andy Blankenbuehler in pre-production for multiple Broadway shows including Hamilton and In The Heights. Cindy has performed for Mia Michaels since 1999 in various concert and commercial projects and assisted her in Delirium by Cirque du Soleil. Cindy is excited to join the Barton sisters this summer, both teaching rep of Crystal Pite's and as one of Axis Connect's emerging choreographers.
